Ahlan! 👋🏻
I'm Yasmeen and I don’t shy away from challenges.
I’ve been designing since I was 14
I’m an award-winning designer & strategist working at the at the intersection of technology, accessibility, equity, and culture. I reframe problems, navigate ambiguity, and turn complexity into clarity.
My journey began in high school with a Product Design class that changed my life, I got the chance to apply design thinking by listening to real-users and designing for them; desk organizers, 3D-printed headphone holders, adjustable laundry basket, and math games for kids. Studio time became my escape, a place to experiment, create, and see ideas come to life.
I pursued my passion for design through an undergraduate degree in Interaction Design and Entrepreneurship, from Northeastern University.
Over time, my curiosity grew from solving individual screen-level problems to understanding and shaping complex systems. I am currently pursuing my MS in Strategic Design and Management at Parsons (expected May 2026), building on 6+ years of professional experience in experience design, research, and strategy.
This combination of education and practice equips me to lead interdisciplinary teams, navigate complex project dynamics, and drive strategic visioning, translating human-centered insights into actionable, high-impact outcomes.
I bring interdisciplinary experience across physical & digital design, enabling me to think holistically about systems: how objects, interfaces, and narratives intersect to shape meaningful experiences across touchpoints.
One of my very first design creations in high school; a math game for 3rd graders
I designed & assembled campus event & wayfinding signage at my Northeastern University co-op
I envisioned, designed, and created a Medusa inspired headpeice for one of my undergrad classes
I designed & manufactured products to help the elderly w/ enhancing their fine motor skills (3D print & laser cut)
My design philosophy
-
I approach design with a systems lens, understanding meaningful change requires understanding how parts connect within a larger whole. Rather than addressing isolated touchpoints, I focus on designing interventions that create impact across interconnected structures.
-
My work is grounded in a commitment to equity. I believe design should not only be aesthetic and functional, but actively work toward empowering towards fairness, representation, and inclusion.
-
Informed by my own cultural background, I approach design with a sensitivity to cultural nuance and deep understanding for the lived experience.
